When the first Nintendo Wii Sports (2006) came out, I was amazed at how much fun playing tennis was with the Wii Remote. This highlighted the true potential of using the Wii Remote and the gaming platform as a whole. For the first time in my life, I thought this was it – this is the game that would let me exercise and have fun at the same time!

Years to come I was in awe of the Nintendo Switch system when it launched and how revolutionary it was with Joy-Con controllers and its versatility to be played on the go and also on TV. But there is definitely something missing.

After long dreaming of something similar to the original Wii Sports on Nintendo Wii for a while, we finally have it. This is Nintendo Switch Sports on the Nintendo Switch and it definitely brings back memories.

Sure, there may be bad memories such as people not using the wrist strap and breaking their TV swinging the controllers, but for most gamers who have the game, we’re having fun!

There are a variety of sports activities you can enjoy in Nintendo Switch Sports, such as: volleyball, badminton, bowling, football, chabara and tennis. There will be an update soon where Golf will be added and we hope more fun games will be added in future updates.

So yes, classic tennis is back and it’s just as fun as ever. You can play with up to 4 players (1 Joy-Con controller each) and the way you swing the Joy-Con will result in different hits. For example, you can do a lob shot, a top spin, and even a slice using different arm and wrist movements.

And finally there is badminton in the game. I play badminton every week and it is rare to see badminton playing on any gaming platform anywhere. In Nintendo Switch Sports, unfortunately, up to 2 players can play, but it’s still a fun game. It’s more like faster tennis with smashes and drop shots using an extra button press while swinging.

We also tried volleyball, which seems to be the favorite when my friends came to play Nintendo Switch Sports during the review. It’s another game for up to 4 players and it’s really fun because you have to work with your partner to prepare the ball for a smash, block and counter enemies.

If you like to relax a bit, there is also Bowling (up to 4 players). You can choose whether you want to play turn by turn (like in traditional bowling) or to save time, let everyone play at the same time. I’m amazed at how different swings can produce different things, including bending the ball by twisting your wrist.

I then tried to play football online and surprisingly (wasn’t aware at first) you can play with up to 7 other people (8 players in total). Each controls a player in the game and you are free to run around the pitch while trying to kick and score a goal. You can jump by pressing an extra button, kick the ball by swinging the Joy-Con left or right (and if you have a leg strap – from the Nintendo Switch Sports physical edition or if you have the Ring Fit Adventure game), and do a header by swinging the Joy-Con down.

I think I end up running more than kicking the ball, but maybe I need more practice here.

Finally, there’s Chambara, where you have to think and act quickly to attack and block while holding the Joy-Con in the right direction. It also highlights the responsiveness of the Joy-Con controllers. It’s probably my least favorite game in Nintendo Switch Sports (and it seems to have the longest online queue compared to the others), but you may find it fun.

Speaking of playing online, you will earn in-game points by playing and earning which you can use to unlock accessories and many more in-game for your character customizations. It’s obviously not necessary, but it’s a good progression system to keep you motivated to play. You can select up to 3 games you want to play so you can queue at all three and play faster. Unfortunately, you cannot unlock items when playing offline with friends.

There are short tutorials on how to play the games, but I wish there were advanced ones, because I didn’t know that flicking your wrist, for example, can do different things in the game , and many more tips. Sure, you can find them on YouTube, but you’ll have to wait for the officials to be added to the game.

Nintendo Switch Sports Review Conclusion

Nintendo Switch Sports brings back the heart of gameplay with Joy-Con controllers where you can actually exercise while having fun at the same time. I think it’s the best board game on Nintendo Switch compared to other games I have like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Party, Mario Tennis Aces and Splatoon 2.

Anyone can play because it’s not complicated to learn, but it’s also the competitive nature of sports games themselves. Plus, nothing is more fun than swinging your Joy-Con while screaming and laughing at the same time.

Over the past month, leaks of a potential Game Boy and Game Boy Advance (GBA) emulator on the Nintendo Switch have piled up, with some dataminers even running versions on their home systems.

Many fans speculated that this would be Nintendo’s next addition to the Switch Online (NSO) subscription service following the launch of the Expansion Pack tier which includes DLC for select games, as well as Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis games.

In this “Sloop” emulator specifically used for GBA, a ROM folder contains several playable games or information about titles potentially included at some point but no longer featured. There is also other data indicating that games are being used for testing purposes, which means that just because a game is mentioned does not mean that it will be added to the service, if it becomes a reality.

There is also evidence of a Game Boy / Game Boy Color emulator titled “Hiyoko”, although early images show games as individual apps and less data was available on what the backend might look like.

However, that doesn’t change the fact that this Nintendo Switch Game Boy leak has provided detailed details of a potential NSO addition in the not-too-distant future.

Nintendo Switch Game Boy Leak Preview

Leaks like this aren’t uncommon, but they’re rarely this big. And, while we don’t know much about the source because the leaked files were from 4Chan, we do know that they were dumped from a development switch, not a standard model. This fact is demonstrated by the files containing not only the GB Hiyoko and GBA Sloop emulators, but also a development version of the NES NSO emulator which also included games not included on the current service.

These three variants are listed as being assembled between March 2019 and August 2020. We also know via internal data that the emulators were likely developed by Nintendo European Research & Development, the arm responsible for most of Nintendo’s major in-system emulators. dating from the Wii U.

The GB emulator is particularly buggy and does not contain much content. Only four games were actually shown; Super Mario Land, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, Tetrisand Qix. Several dataminers indicate that this is a very early build of a build that’s likely more fleshed out now, but we won’t know what it actually looks like until Nintendo confirms its existence.

GBA emulator is much more extensive, although many of its features are still hidden or locked down since it is a development model. It has several segments, including an area to test emulated jumper functionality for multiplayer modes and features. A total of 30 games are accessible in Sloop, with another 10 games also included, although not accessible.

Here is a complete list of these games, broken down into the segments in which they are included in the data:

  • Accessible ROMs
    • Astro Boy: Omega Factor
    • Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
    • Drilling bulldozer
    • Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones
    • F-Zero: maximum speed
    • Games and Watches Gallery 4
    • golden sun
    • Golden Sun: The Lost Age
    • Gunstar Super Hero
    • Kirby and the Incredible Mirror
    • Kur Kuru Kururin
    • Mario & Luigi: The Superstar Saga
    • Mario Golf: Advanced Tour
    • Mario Kart: Super Circuit
    • Mario Tennis: Guided Tour
    • Mario vs. Donkey Kong
    • Mega Man 2 Battle Network
    • Mega Man Zero 3
    • Metroid Fusion
    • Metroid: Mission Zero
    • Mr. Driller 2
    • Ninja Five-O
    • Pokémon Pinball: Ruby and Sapphire
    • Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3
    • Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation
    • Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis
    • The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
    • Earth Wario 4
    • Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3
  • Inaccessible ROMs
    • Joe the car battler
    • Castlevania: Circle of the Moon
    • ChuChu Rocket!
    • Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town
    • Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories
    • Koro Koro puzzle Happy Panechu!
    • Lufia: Ruins of Knowledge
    • Mario Party Advance
    • Mega Man Battle Network 5: ProtoMan Team
    • Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team
  • Presented in other ways (probably feature testing)
    • Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald

All in all, the fact that the GBA emulator went so far as to have online functionality via the tested link cable emulation indicates that all of this data is outdated but accurate. However, this does not mean that GB or GBA games will soon be added to NSO. All this information has been obtained from unofficial and outdated data, so we have to wait for Nintendo to confirm it before considering it as fact.

For fans hoping for those leaks, the N64 and Sega Genesis titles were announced as part of the new NSO expansion during the September 2021 Nintendo Direct before becoming available in October last year. If Nintendo plans to expand the service again with Game Boy deals, an announcement in September would align with the company’s history over the past few years.

That being said, no NSO expansions were announced in 2020, so fans might wait until 2023 to find out if Nintendo decides to continue rolling out more NES, SNES, and N64 games through 2022 and give another boost to service.

If you’re already excited about Lonesome Village, the game has a playable demo via Steam, where you can also show your interest by adding it to your wishlist. You can also keep up to date with all the latest game news via the developer’s official Twitter account. Curious to know what other hidden gems await you? Take a look at our new list of indie games.

According to the game’s Steam page, there will be tons of things for players to discover in Lonesome Village, including fishing, spending time with adorable animal friends, fighting their way through a mysterious dungeon, discovering the origins of the city, and much more. After studying film studies and creative writing in college, I was lucky enough to land a job as an intern at Player Two PR where I helped release a number of independent titles. I then got even luckier when I became a GamesRadar intern news writer, where I can spread the word about what’s going on in the gaming world. My expertise lies in Animal Crossing related topics having spent the past 15 years immersing myself in island life. I also know a thing or two about The Last of Us, and way too much about the Kingdom Hearts series.

A Nintendo insider has teased the release of what looks like a potentially controversial and divisive Switch game. Looking at the rest of 2022, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite and Nintendo Switch OLED users can expect Splaton 3, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Bayonet 3, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, Mario Strikers: Battle League, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, Advance Wars 1+2: Reboot Camp, Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Purple, and of course, whatever third-party and indie games are coming to the platform by December 31st. There might also be a few surprises along the way. In fact, that’s exactly what a Nintendo insider is teasing, but it seems the surprise isn’t for everyone.

The new rumor teases that in August a “redacted” Nintendo Switch game from Nintendo will be released. What this game is, we don’t know, but the rumor adds that “you don’t want it, trust me”. In a follow up, the rumor clarifies that the August release is merely a guess, meaning the use of “redacted” wasn’t used to hide the release date of an already announced game, but a game not advertised. Teasing involves one of two things: it’s a game no one wants or it’s not of the highest quality. Of course, he could also tick both of these boxes.

As for teasing, it’s about the way of Imran Khan by Fanbyte. Khan has been on and off track in the past. For example, he and many others were way off with the “Nintendo Switch Pro”, which time finally revealed didn’t exist.

For now, take everything here with a grain of salt. Not only is everything here speculative or unofficial, but even if it’s accurate, it’s also subject to change. While we wait to learn more about this mysterious game, be sure to check out all of our past and extensive coverage of all things Nintendo, click here.

Pokemon has a slew of spin-off games that far exceed the mainline series we know and love. Many believe that the true quality of the franchise lies not in the turn-based RPGs, but in the weird and wonderful spin-offs that still go cheap to this day. Although Pokemon Snap holds a special place in my heart, I don’t know if any spinoff stands up to SoulSilver or Emerald.

Snap, however, has had the sequel treatment in recent years that many games aren’t lucky enough to get. The spinoff that deserves the most love after Snap, however, is the Pokemon Trading Card Game. Now, it’s easy to get confused here. The Pokemon Trading Card Game is a physical collection of cards that grows several times a year and requires you to collect them all in order to build the strongest deck. There is also a Game Boy game called Pokemon Trading Card Game. It’s not Pokemon TCG Online, an internet-based collecting and battling simulator, or Pokemon TCG Live, the successor to PTCGO. This version, the Game Boy game, is a card-based RPG, and it’s better than all the others I just listed.

I admit that there is joy in collecting the physical cards. I’ve done it on different levels for most of my life. I started with the Power Reserve starter deck. I traded ten rare cards and five for a Dark Celebi when I was about nine years old. I pulled out the rare Rainbow Charizard & Reshiram Tag Team GX from my first Unbroken Bonds elite trainer box. But the hobby is getting more and more expensive and thanks to YouTubers and scalpers, it’s getting harder and harder for regular gamers to enjoy. Building a competitive deck costs a lot of money, and I’ve since fallen in love with the game. That’s not the case in the Game Boy version, though.

Instead of an exorbitant, exclusive entry price, Dr. Mason gives you a Charmander, Squirtle, or Bulbasaur-themed starter deck. This is the only acceptable play to choose Charmander as a starter on Bulbasaur, due to the fact that his deck is vastly superior and contains a Zapdos. None of the other starter decks have a legendary Pokemon card, and Charmander contains the best Gen 1 legendary. It’s a no-brainer.

Your task is to defeat all eight Club Masters (read: Gym Leaders), four Grand Masters (Elite Four), and the Champion (uh, Champion) to collect the four Legendary Pokemon cards to add to your deck. These are Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Dragonite respectively, with the latter being featured as an IRL promo card with the Japanese version of the game. You also have to battle your rival, Ronald, along the way.

These legendary cards – the Zapdos is different from the one you start with if you choose Charmander, by the way – aren’t unlocked through microtransactions or spending in-game currency on booster packs with a tiny drop rate, though. , they are just unlocked by fighting the Grand Masters. The games were simple like that. You can even defeat Grand Masters multiple times to add multiple copies of a card to your deck. While my favorite thing to do was to put the three Legendary Birds in a deck with some Dragonites and eeveelutions, you could recreate the IRL meta decks from early tournaments – Haymaker and Rain Dance were particularly powerful. Using the Hitmonchan/Scyther combo with a link cable was guaranteed to cause you to lose some friends, but I’d run it if a remake or emulated version had online capabilities for PvP.

There is no overworld in the Pokemon Trading Card Game, just a card that allows you to quickly get to Gyms in order. However, you can modify your deck as you wish to change your playstyle and perfect your combat technique. I can’t count the number of hours I’ve spent tinkering and polishing this game – I’ve spent far more time meddling in that aspect than battling, thanks to the slightly repetitive nature of the fights themselves. But the best part is that it didn’t cost me a penny! Without resorting to proxies, making changes to an IRL Pokemon TCG deck might cost you a few pounds – depending on the cards you’re testing of course – but here it’s all free.

I’d love a remake of this classic Pokemon game, with a fleshed-out overworld and even more RPG elements, but I know the odds are slim. Imagine it, though, the original could only include the first three Pokémon card sets (that was all that was released at the time of its initial release, to be fair), but a modern version could include every set. to date – or at least legal tournaments – and may add more as DLC when released. However, I don’t think it’s feasible in modern games. The online versions of the TCG use the same gacha mechanics as the actual packs, and unfortunately there just isn’t enough money in an RPG where you unlock all the maps just by playing the game.

It is for this reason that the original should be included in the Game Boy emulator for Switch, which should be released soon. Heck, you can also add the Japanese-only sequel, Pokémon Card GB2: Here Comes Team GR!, though maybe I’m still asking too much. Help me here, Nintendo, I just want to play cards again – and without having to buy a thousand boosters.

(Pocket-lint) – Before Nintendo launched its expansion to Switch Online and added classic N64 and Mega Drive games to play, it was rumored that it was also adding a Game Boy emulator and an additional range of retro titles to his department.

Now that seems even more likely as official Game Boy and Game Boy Advance emulator files have leaked – allegedly extracted from a Switch console. Additionally, a datamine of the GBA version revealed that no less than 40 games have already been tested by Nintendo.

This includes Mario Kart Super Circuit, The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, and Metroid Fusion. You can see the full list below, along with MondoMega by posting it on his Twitter feed.

Of course, these games may not come to Switch at all – they were simply tested using the official Game Boy Advance emulator.

And, Nintendo might choose not to fully include Game Boy in its Switch Online lineup, especially now that the software has leaked. However, we certainly hope it does, as it would make the monthly subscription service even more powerful in our eyes.

We also hope that it will be soon. We will keep you posted.
