Two Mega Man Neo Geo games are coming to Nintendo eShop:

Surprise: two Japanese exclusives mega man games just released on Nintendo eShop! Out of nowhere, Capcom and SNK released the Neo Geo Pocket Color ports of Mega Man: Battle for Power and Mega Man 2: Mighty Fighters on the Nintendo Switch.

Both of these games are basically a collection of boss battles, allowing you to play as multiple characters against classic Robot Masters. They were originally released in Japanese arcades, but were later released for the Neo Geo Pocket Color as Rockman battle and fighters. However, it was never released outside of Japan – until today, of course.

Now Switch owners everywhere can get their hands on these elusive titles. Mega Man battle and fighters is available now on the Nintendo Switch eShop in the US and Europe. This appears to be a direct port of the Japanese version with no English translation, however.

What is that mega man Neo Geo games?

Mega Man: Battle for Power and power fighters strip down the classic formula of iconic boss battles. You can play as four distinct characters: Mega Man, Proto Man, Bass, and Duo.

Whoever you choose, you’ll be pitted against a series of robot masters in any order you choose and earn a new weapon from each, encouraging you to strategize based on the weaknesses of the bosses. Standard mega man stuff, but its boss-focused gameplay and Duo’s first appearance Mega Man 8 make some notable additions.
