Nintendo eShop Worldwide Shutdown Will Happen; Here’s how long you can download your games and other details

The worldwide shutdown of the Nintendo eShop is now confirmed. The game developer first launched this online service in June 2011.

It’s been a big long run for the Japanese multinational video game company’s online store. However, things are now coming to an end.

“Thank you for supporting the Nintendo eShop on Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS family of systems,” Nintendo said via its official statement. Press release.

The company also hopes that its systems will always bring joy to its fans. To bring nostalgia to gamers, Nintendo has also launched a new website showing them their previous game stats.

Nintendo eShop Global Shutdown

According IGNAccording to Nintendo’s latest report, the Nintendo eShop in the West will be closing on March 27, 2023. On the other hand, the releases in Japan are expected to have their own shutdowns on March 28, 2023.

At the time of writing, players can still upload and transfer funds to their Nintendo eShop accounts. However, on August 30, online stores will no longer accept new sales.

Although closing times are still a long way off, players are encouraged to upload their story paths for the popular “Fire Emblem Fates”, a 3DS game that can be purchased through Nintendo’s eShop.

They must do so by February 28, 2023, as the game’s publisher has confirmed that major digital copies of the title will no longer be provided.

How to Download Nintendo eShop Games

If you’ve ever forgotten how to install games from the official Nintendo eShop, here are the exact steps you need to follow:

  1. First, choose Nintendo eShop from the HOME Menu to launch Nintendo eShop.
  2. After that, click on the account you prefer to use (if you have multiple accounts).
  3. Then choose the game you want to buy or download and click on the actual title to find out more.
  4. After that, click on the Continue button.

On the other hand, the Nintendo Switch 14.1.2 Rebootless update now prohibits large amounts of swear words.

Meanwhile, Nintendo Switch Online has added four SEGA Genesis video games.
