GTA Trilogy Nintendo Switch Physical Release Date Confirmed Will Require Additional Download
Nintendo of America has confirmed that physical copies of The GTA Trilogy for the Nintendo Switch will be available on February 11, 2022.
Interestingly enough, the image in this tweet reads, “Download required. Review.” The total size of its digital game on the eShop is 22.1 GB, less than the maximum size cartridges can hold on the system. There is no news if there will be any updates to this version of the game when it is released.
However, previous physical releases did not feature any major updates. Nintendo of America’s tweet about the physical release also doesn’t specify the download size.
The physical release date for the GTA Trilogy on Nintendo Switch is February 11, 2022, download is still required
The physical release date for the Nintendo Switch version of the GTA Trilogy has been delayed compared to other consoles. These versions were released on December 17, 2021, with the Nintendo Switch physical version finally releasing on February 11, 2022.
However, at the bottom of this image is something that reads: “Download required. Review.” Cartridges for this system are available in different sizes including 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB. Considering GTA Trilogy’s 22.1GB file size on the eShop, it looks like the game isn’t using the 32GB cartridge, even though it’s available.
Naturally, the required download doesn’t bode well for fans of the series. One of the main reasons to get a physical copy is to not download anything. This is especially glaring in situations where there are cartridges that can fit everything, but they are not used for some reason.
Physical copies of the GTA Trilogy will also require players to connect to the internet, which can be a problem if they have slow internet. The digital version was available on November 11, 2021, and it should be noted that some gamers wanted to wait for the physical release to get the game.
There was news that the Nintendo Switch version would have required this in October last year. No one can guess why the delay from December 17, 2021 to February 11, 2022 happened, so little has changed on that front.
The weak reviews of the GTA trilogy
Ratings from critics and users for the Nintendo Switch version of the GTA Trilogy are abysmal. The game has low ratings for each platform, so this is something to keep in mind for gamers looking for a physical copy of the game.
Its graphics are the weakest on the Nintendo Switch, although fans have the option to play it on the go.
