Nintendo’s legendary Mario party The franchise is making a big comeback with five sets and over 100 mini-games, both new and old.

Since its introduction in 1999 for the Nintendo 64, which offered players a virtual board embodying different characters from the Mario universe and competing for victory in crazy mini-games, the titles of this great brand have continued to appear. on every Nintendo platform to date. This is why fans of Mario party franchise are ecstatic today as Mario Party Superstars is now available on Nintendo Switch, thanks to a collaboration between Nintendo and developer NDcube.

Mario Party Superstars stays true to the franchise

Now, 22 years after the original game, Mario Party Superstars is a compilation based on the Nintendo 64 and GameCube titles that brings this original experience to the Nintendo Switch. Despite this, the game is not a simple recovery of previous titles, since the Japanese firm NDcube was in charge of creating an original product that recalls the mini-games of the franchise that defined our childhood.

Mario Party Superstars was designed for local and online multiplayer. It is possible to play alone against the computer, but it is an incomplete experience and the game is much less entertaining. All game modes are internet compatible and the Joy-Con and Pro controllers can be used in local mode.

The presence of the Nintendo Switch Lite, which has fewer options due to the lack of an external Joy-Con, has forced NDcube to adapt. This means that in minigames you cannot use features like the controller’s accelerometer or infrared beams. However, these constraints are quite similar to previous Nintendo 64 and GameCube mini-games, which did not use these technologies.

Mario Party Superstars is now available on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite and Nintendo Switch OLED.
