Luigi’s Mansion 3 goodies announced for My Nintendo Japan

In Japan, My Nintendo has been a great continuation of Club Nintendo for years past. Fans around the world can redeem their Platinum Points for digital rewards, and the Gold Points can be used for game discounts. However, Japanese players can also get exclusive loot. The newest set of goodies is related to Luigi’s mansion 3, and you can check them out below.

Luigi’s Mansion 3 Hotel Keychain – 400 Platinum Points

While these goodies are technically free after redeeming points, there is a packaging and shipping charge of 500 for physical goods. Still, some of these rewards are well worth it.

Nintendo offered a service like this in different regions. By registering codes wrapped in games, players could take a short survey and collect points for cool stuff. They even offered additional bonuses to fans who hit certain point thresholds by the end of the year. However, it only lasted from 2008 to 2015 in North America and was mostly digital awards at the end. It would be nice to see them bring it back for fans outside of Japan, as some of the loot is to die for. In the meantime, My Nintendo is organizing a Luigi’s mansion 3 raffles for the United States and Canada (except Quebec) which have some impressive things to win.

And you? Will you try to get your hands on this keychain? Is the tote bag the perfect complement to the Virtual Boo for your full-size Gooigi model? Let us know!

Nintendo Japan Apologizes For Censorship Of Tokyo Mirage ♯FE Encore Sessions, Offers Full Refunds For Preorders

Nintendo apologized to Japanese customers who pre-ordered Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE Encore, after only announcing that the game would be based on the censored Western version of Tokyo ♯FE Mirage Sessions after the start of pre-orders.

In case you missed our previous reports, the game’s trailer raised concerns that the censorship that plagued the original (Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE) is returning – and maybe even in the Japanese version.

While the official Japanese site showed what appeared to be footage of the uncensored Japanese version (and confirming English language support in the Japanese version), it was later updated to show the censored version of the same picture.

The website updated once again, adding the disclaimer “This work is a universal specification that adds new material based on the western version of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE released on Wii U.” This disclaimer came after the start of pre-orders in Japan.

On October 18, Nintendo released a statement about it, apologizing for releasing the information so late and confirming that they would allow customers for a refund at a later date if they wanted to cancel their pre-order. You can find the translation below (via bk2128, via GoNintendo), please note that the Japanese title of the game (Genei Ibun Roku FE Encore) has not been translated, to help differentiate it from the western version of the game.

“We apologize to customers for the error and for not providing enough information regarding the content of the pre-notification for Genei Ibun Roku ♯FE Encore, the software for Nintendo Switch scheduled for release on January 17, 2020 .

This title adds a new feature to Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE (released in 2016), the western version of Genei Ibun Roku ♯FE, the software for Wii U released in 2015. We are continuing development with a global common specification and aiming for release simultaneous worldwide (you can enjoy Japanese voices in the game).

However despite this, on the promotional activities of Genei Ibun Roku FE Encore, we did not inform from the start that this title would be based on Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE. And also on the official homepage, we mistakenly posted screenshots of the game from the home version Wii U of Genei Ibun Roku ♯FE which would not have been included in this title, so the situation caused a misunderstanding to our customers regarding the content of this Title.

So, on October 10, 2019, we made some replacements for the game’s screenshots on the homepage. And on the 17th we posted that this title would be based on Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE. But we recognize that we did not provide enough information to our customers from the start.

In this regard, for all customers who have purchased / pre-ordered Genei Ibun Roku ♯FE Encore through Nintendo eShop or My Nintendo Store, and wish to request a cancellation due to this issue, we will provide the procedures on this page at a later date. . . “

We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
